Service Delayed

By Harmony | August 28, 2008 | 8:16 am

Well, I was getting antsy so I wrote a letter to the cute-sounding Josh at the Africa Placement Desk yesterday afternoon. This morning, I found a reply in my inbox - it went something like this:

Hi Harmony,

Thanks for your message. You are correct that you were nominated for a program leaving in mid-October. However, the Medical Office has placed a restriction on your application, so we will not be able to invite you for that program. Your Placement Officer, [name removed] (whom I have “cc’d” on this email) will work to find a spot for you in upcoming programs that do not conflict with your restriction. Don’t hesitate to contact us with any more questions; your continued patience is much appreciated.

Warm regards,

Joshua

My medical restriction was minor, but I guess they just couldn’t accommodate me in the 2nd poorest country in the world. Guess I’m not going to Burkina Faso after all.

I’m busy with conference calls this morning. Once I have a chance to let this sink in, I think I’ll give my Placement Officer a call to see what the next step would be.

Damn.
