Endless Anticipation

Well, it looks like people are beginning to get their official Peace Corps invitations for the program to which I believe I’m nominated. Four people on the PeaceCorps2 Yahoo! group received theirs in just the last two days alone! I can only hope that mine is not far behind.
Fingers crossed that I get the word tomorrow, so I don’t have to wait another long and grueling weekend.
It would be nice to give my company ample notice before my resignation date. Management has already begun interviewing for my position, but can’t hire until I get the definitive word. There are so many parts to my job; I just don’t think 5 weeks of training will cut it. Oh well. I’ll give what I can and trust that it will all work out in the end.
*sigh*
In other news, the Area Vice President’s admin just informed me that I’ve been nominated to serve as the Volunteer Day Coordinator in our marketplace this year. The actual event doesn’t occur until after I’m slated to be long gone, so I’ll be curious to know how that’s going to pan out!
